I enjoy doing engagement sessions and this couple is so fun and so easy to talk to! They requested the Pappajohn Sculpture Park as the location. The location was cool and the sun was warm and yummy! I look forward to doing shooting their wedding next summer!

Why do I say "finally"? Well I got a call while on Christmas vacation back in 2008, "I need a gift certificate for my in-laws for a photo shoot. I want to give it to them as a present". All was taken care of. As 2009 went by we set up a date in the fall for a shoot. Then while I was on another vacation with my family I got a call, "I'm going to have a baby, can we postpone the photo shoot?" I like to accommodate my clients, so I said, "of course". Then over the course of 2010 I didn't hear from either daughter-in-law. And while on another vacation I get an email from another photographer, "I think I'm getting your emails". Sure enough he was from the daughter-in-law trying to set up the photo session. It was all figured out and we set the date up. The patriarchs of the family have built a beautiful log cabin in the middle of their corn field, it's gorgeous. We were able to get some shots outside by their corn before it started to rain and then went in for a few more. I wanted to stay in the cozy house, it's beautiful!

This week's challenge on I ♥ Faces is Chalk.
My youngest and I spend a lot of time hanging out during the summer while the older two go up, down, and all around the neighborhood. Playing with chalk is one of our favorites. Most of the time it's drawing each other. Here's a picture of my youngest x2 from this summer (can you tell it was a bright summer day?).

This was my time experiencing an indoor photo shoot with so many people by myself. I am pretty happy with the results.
Here's the whole crew- Grandpa & Grandma H., the C. family, and the L. family.
Yes they are twins.

B wanted a downtown shoot. We drove around looking for different spots. We ended up on Court Ave., an abandoned building and some train tracks. This is only part one of her shoot. We'll be doing another one soon! She is a very gorgeous, bright and talented girl!
You may ask why I call this family "friendly"...they are! They are so nice and easy to get along with. I had my kids with me and they all wanted to just play and talk. The lighting was simply gorgeous on this night too, which made for some pretty fantastic pictures!
