I heart faces ♥ Hearts

It has been a while since I've entered an I heart faces challenge, but this one is close to my "heart". 

The baby boy in this womb is now 7 months old and has had 2 heart surgeries. To see pictures of him and read about his heart condition you can read his mother's blog Pray for John's Heart, just a warning - get a tissue box first. I have had the awesome privilege of documenting his life. This one is an oldie, but a goodie! You can see more of the pregnancy shoot here.

I ♥ Faces ~ Slice of Life

This week's challenge at I Heart Faces is "Slice of Life".

I knew immediately after reading a post that Susan Keller's wrote on real life photography which picture I was going to enter. I took this a few months back. My son wants to learn how to play the guitar and my husband was giving him his first lesson. My son was so cute, his tiny fingers gripping the strings, trying to make the cord...and of course my hubby was adorable too. Providentially my camera was in the room and I was able to capture his first lesson. I have a few shots from that night, but this is definitely my favorite. I love the look on my son's face. I love the composition. I love how you can see their fingers through my husband's glasses. Reliving the night fills my ♥ with JOY!

I Heart Faces - Silhouette

This week's photo challenge at I Heart Faces is Silhouettes. I've loved silhouettes every since first grade when I stood in front of the over head projector while my teacher traced out my shadow onto a black paper. I love how the subject is frozen in time. This is my favorite silhouette picture of my kids.

I Heart Faces - Orange

This week's challenge at I ♥ Faces is Orange. This is one of my all time favorite pictures. On our way home from vacation this summer, we made a short stop at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, CO. God creation is breath taking here. The brilliant orange colored rocks shooting up from the ground, magnificently laid out in the creator's design. I love how my daughter is standing in aw of His truly awesome creation.

This week's challenge on I ♥ Faces is Chalk.

My youngest and I spend a lot of time hanging out during the summer while the older two go up, down, and all around the neighborhood. Playing with chalk is one of our favorites. Most of the time it's drawing each other. Here's a picture of my youngest x2 from this summer (can you tell it was a bright summer day?).

I ♥ Faces - Beach Fun

This week's I Heart Faces challenge is 'Beach Fun'. We're usually at the beach when it's 'cold' since we visit our family in CA at Thanksgiving or Christmas time. In 2007 it was warm enough for us to run around and put our feet in the ocean. The kid's clothes eventually came off, OF COURSE. This is my youngest who is now 4. She was 1 1/2 at the time, and she had no fear! I'm glad I had my camera with me to capture the evening!
